Ehvahloonah is a soft-grunge-pastel-goth-latinx swaying her hippity hips all over Los Angeles with apathetic sarcasm and deadpan-anxiety. She uses soft surreal imagery to dabble into the existential dread that she morbidly simmers on a daily. By no means does this constitute as negative. It is 100% authentically grade-A edgy.
This has led to the current focus of her work as a re-interpretation of Meso-American spirituality for a contemporary audience. Each work explores, apotheosizes, and dignifies the epic stories and gods of the Meso-American classics.
The goal is to re-connect the modern chicano(a)/mexican to their ancestral past to heal the traumas of the conquest and the colonial experience.
